Furniture Movers in Saskatoon: Single Items and Small Moves
Moving one couch, a few pieces or a small load in Saskatoon: how minimum charges work, what to measure first, and what to ask.
Small jobs often run into a minimum charge. One national moving company's Saskatoon guide gives an average of $139 an hour with a two-hour minimum (August 2025), and a moving marketplace's lowest listed rate for two movers and a truck was $165 an hour (checked November 2026). At those rates, two hours comes to about $278 to $330 before tax and any travel or truck fee. Ask about the minimum before you book.
Measure first. Note the size of the item and of the doorways, stairwells and elevators it has to pass through, and say whether legs, doors or bed frames come off. Ask whether the mover takes furniture apart and puts it back together, and whether that costs extra.
Buying something second-hand? Give both addresses, say whether someone will be there to help load at the seller's end, and agree the price before the mover sets out. The Office of Consumer Affairs' advice applies to small jobs too: get the price and terms in writing.
