Moving Costs in Saskatoon: Published Prices and Cheap Movers
Published moving prices for Saskatoon by home size, what pushes a bill up, and how to tell a good price from a quote that is too good to be true.
One national moving company publishes these Saskatoon ranges (updated August 2025): about $450 to $750 for a studio with two movers, $890 to $1,460 for two bedrooms with three movers, $1,850 to $2,570 for three bedrooms with four movers, and $2,000 to $2,770 for four bedrooms with five movers. These are its own marketing figures, not a survey, and your move may differ.
A moving marketplace reports a median quoted price of $5,040 across 90+ quote requests involving Saskatoon between June 2023 and July 2026. The examples it shows are long-distance moves, so treat this as a sign of how much bigger moves can cost, not as the price of a move across town.
Cheap and honest is possible. Too cheap is a warning sign. The Competition Bureau says rogue movers quote a low price and claim there are "no surprise fees" or that "everything is included", insist a verbal contract is enough, and then hold your belongings until you pay more. It says that if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
In Saskatchewan, the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority lists charging a price that is substantially higher than an estimate as an unfair practice, unless the consumer expressly agreed to the higher price in advance. So get the estimate in writing, and don't agree to a new price under pressure on moving day.
To keep the bill down without cutting corners, get three written estimates and compare what each includes, and ask whether a weekday or mid-month date is cheaper.
Common jobs
- Written estimates by home size
- Hourly local moves
- Flat-rate quotes (ask exactly what is included)
- Boxes, packing and supplies (ask what costs extra)
Have this ready when you call
- The size of the home, in bedrooms, and roughly how full it is
- Where you are moving from and to
- Stairs, elevators and parking at each end
- Your moving date, and whether a weekday or mid-month date would work
Common questions
How much does it cost to move a 2-bedroom apartment in Saskatoon?
One national moving company publishes $890 to $1,460 for two bedrooms with three movers in Saskatoon (updated August 2025). Stairs, distance and how much you own all change it, so get a written estimate.
Can a mover charge more than the estimate in Saskatchewan?
Saskatchewan's Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority lists charging a price substantially higher than an estimate as an unfair practice, unless the consumer expressly agreed to the higher price in advance. Keep the written estimate, and ask for any change in price before the extra work is done.
Are cheap movers in Saskatoon worth it?
A low price isn't a problem by itself. A quote that's much lower than the others, given over the phone, with promises of "no surprise fees" and no paper copy until moving day, matches the warning signs the Competition Bureau lists.
